Harvey Mudd started accepting self-reported test scores in 2017年11月 for students applying for first-year and transfer admission. We made this change in our policy in order to alleviate some of the stress and cost of applying to Harvey Mudd.

Since 2020, we announced these additional changes to our previous standardized testing policy:

  1. We will no longer be considering SAT subject test scores.
  2. For the high school classes of 2021 and 2022, HMC will be ACT/SAT optional for all applicants.
  3. HMC extends its ACT/SAT optional pilot through 2023.
  4. HMC extends its ACT/SAT optional pilot for an additional year, through 2024.
  5. HMC extends its ACT/SAT optional pilot for an additional year, through 2025.

We will continue to accept self-reported test scores, but want to emphasize that students who do not or can not submit test scores will not be at a disadvantage in our admission process, 包括优秀奖学金.

Only depositing students who requested that we consider their ACT/SAT scores will be required to submit official ACT/SAT score reports. 当然, any discrepancies between self-reported and official test scores may affect a student’s offer of admission and place in the class.

是的. We will continue to consider your highest section scores across different sittings and will combine your highest section scores between the ACT and SAT.
